In the petition, it was requested that Imran Khan cannot participate in the election while being a member of the National Assembly, he should be prevented from participating in the by-elections on 9 seats. Participated in the election from more constituencies, by amending the rules, one person should be obliged to participate in the election from the same seat.

It should be noted that on August 5, former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that all constituencies will participate in the by-elections to be held on September 25 in 9 constituencies of the National Assembly. It was said that in the by-elections of 9 National Assembly constituencies to be held on September 25, Chairman Imran Khan himself will contest from all the seats.

Earlier, the Election Commission had issued a schedule for the by-elections on September 25 for the vacant seats of the National Assembly resigned by the PTI members.The elections will be held on September 25.According to the schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers from August 10 to August 13.The documents will be scrutinized on August 17. Appeals against the decision can be submitted till August 20 and the appellate tribunal will decide on August 25. The revised list of candidates will be released on August 26, after which candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till August 27, while the final list of candidates will be on August 29. will be issued till 29 August and election symbols will also be allotted.

It should be noted that the Election Commission had notified them on the notification issued by the Speaker of the National Assembly after accepting the resignation of 11 members of PTI. The Election Commission has de-notified the above-mentioned members of the National Assembly on accepting the resignation of the Speaker and on the notification issued on July 28 in this regard.and a total of 11 seats have been declared vacant.

It should be noted that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, had sent a notification to the Election Commission after accepting the resignation of 11 members of the PTI a day before. The resignations have been accepted by exercising the discretionary powers under Clause (1) of Article 64.Among the members whose resignations were accepted were Ali Muhammad Khan from NA-22 Mardan 3,Fazal Muhammad Khan from NA-24 Charsadda 2, Shaukat Ali from NA-31 Peshawar 5, Fakhr from NA-45 Karam 1. Other PTI members include Farrukh Habib from NA-108 Faisalabad 8, Ijaz Ahmad Shah from NA-118 Nankana Sahib 2, Jameel Ahmed Khan from NA-237 Malir 2, Korangi from NA-239. Mohammad Akram Cheema from Karachi One, Abdul Shakur Shad from NA-246 Karachi South One are also included.

The Speaker had also accepted the resignations of Shireen Mazari and Shandana Gulzar elected on the seats reserved for women from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The spokesman of the National Assembly said that the members of the National Assembly of PTI had resigned from their seats on April 11, 2022.
