August 19, 2022) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a proposal to all franchise owners of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to adopt the auction model instead of the current draft model. . According to PCB, the auction model will help attract more stars to Pakistan's premier T20 tournament as they will be given more incentives than the draft model.

The PCB is reportedly looking to implement an IPL-style auction model to speed up the PSL. According to reports, the PSL franchise owners are not too keen on the proposal as they feel that the financial burden will increase on them while PCB will get the main benefit.


Franchise owners also questioned some details in the proposal.

He questioned the PCB officials as to what has already been done to make the new model a success and whether they have approached top players from around the world to participate in the league. The franchise owners have requested a meeting with PCB chairman Ramiz Raja to discuss the intricate details of the auction model. This meeting is going to take place on Rameez Raja's return from UK. PSL is likely to adopt auction model after 2024 if both sides reach an agreement on the matter.

Before Haris Rauf, the record of taking more wickets in the first 15 matches was held by Sarfraz Nawaz who took 28 wickets in his first 15 ODI matches between 1973 and 1979. Former leg spinners Abdul Qadir, Hasan Ali and Usman Khan Shinwari also took 28 and 28 catches in their first 15 and 15 ODIs respectively. National team's left arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and world's fastest fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar took 26 and 26 wickets in their first 15 and 15 ODI matches.
