According to Kashmir Media Service, Masood Khan was addressing a special event organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC on the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day.

Masood Khan also demanded the immediate release of Kashmiri political prisoners including Musrat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Asia Andrabi and Dr. Muhammad Qasim Faktu. He emphasized the need to resolve the Kashmir conflict in accordance with the UN Charter and relevant resolutions of the Security Council. Ambassador Tauqeer Hussain emphasized the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to mobilize the international community regarding the Kashmir issue.
