Decline likely because of drop in worldwide costs of gas.
Cost of petroleum might come to Rs268.24 per liter.
Govt to report last cost subsequent to changing conversion standard.

KARACHI: The fuel costs in Pakistan are supposed to fall by around Rs13 per liter in the following fortnightly survey because of a significant drop in worldwide oil costs throughout recent weeks, The News detailed Friday refering to industry authorities.

As per the working of the oil area, the following survey planned on December 15 (today), showed a descending pattern in costs for all oil based goods.

The public authority surveys the costs of oil based commodities each fortnight and changes them as per the global market patterns and the swapping scale of the rupee.

The cost of petroleum might descend by Rs13.10 per liter to Rs268.24 per liter in the following survey, contrasted with the current cost of Rs281.34 per liter. The cost of HSD is probably going to drop by Rs13.66 per liter to Rs276.05 per liter, contrasted with the ongoing cost of Rs289.71 per liter.

The cost of lamp fuel might observer a lessening of Rs8.36 per liter in the following survey, to Rs192.80 per liter from the current cost of Rs201.16 per liter, and the cost of light diesel oil (LDO) may diminish by Rs10.23 per liter to Rs165.70 per liter from the ongoing cost of Rs175.93 per liter.

Industry authorities said that the ex-treatment facility costs of oil based commodities had been showing a descending pattern due to the fall in worldwide oil costs, which had strongly descended during the most recent fourteen days.

Nonetheless, they said that the public authority would declare the last cost in the wake of changing the swapping scale.

"It is not yet clear whether the public authority passes on the full effect of the falling costs in the worldwide market to homegrown purchasers, as in the past audit of costs, the public authority didn't pass on the full advantage of the decrease in the costs of oil based commodities to neighborhood shoppers," an industry official said.

The break government kept petroleum costs unaltered for the main portion of December, in spite of a Rs10.70 per liter decrease in the normal Platts (a cost benchmark administration for the oil business) over the conversion standard change, when PSO was permitted a descending rupee swapping scale change of Rs3.21 per liter with impact from December 1-15, 2023.
