The party's new chief was officially announced by PTI on social media platform X on Saturday, which said that on the orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will be a political party for the internal elections. The statement added that in these elections, PTI's "Founder Chairman Imran Khan's nominated candidate for Chairmanship, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan along with his entire panel won unopposed".

The Election Commission of Pakistan had directed the PTI to hold party elections within its ranks last week, which had given the party 20 days to do so.

In this context, Imran Khan nominated Barrister Gohar Khan as the new head of PTI.

In a video released by the PTI after this nomination, Gauhar Khan could be seen saying, "I will stand in the place of Imran Khan." He also said that the PTI The head of IK was Imran Khan and he will always be the head of the party.

He expressed the same thoughts even after his election as party chief on Saturday, December 2.

In another video released by the party today, he can also be seen saying that he will act as Imran Khan's representative.

He said, "This position will be with me as a trust until Imran Khan returns."
