Under revised playing conditions, both teams will be limited to 80 overs in their first innings

Saturday, December 16, 2023

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has adjusted the playing conditions for the departmental top notch cricket competition, the "President's Prize," which started in Karachi on Saturday.

The changes to the playing conditions have ignited conversations and studies from different areas, as they digress from the conventional guidelines saw in top of the line cricket around the world.

One huge maneuver is confining groups' innings to 80 overs, against the standard act of unhindered innings in top notch cricket. Under the changed playing conditions, the two groups will be restricted to 80 overs in their most memorable innings, while there will be no overs limitation in the subsequent innings.

Groups scoring at least 350 runs will procure a batting reward point, a reward point will be granted to the bowling side in the event that they figure out how to excuse the rival inside the specified 80 overs.

Remarkably, an extraordinary arrangement in the overhauled conditions says that on the off chance that the skipper of the batting side decides to proclaim the innings prior to finishing 80 overs, the bowling side will be granted the reward point.

Previous test cricketer and reporter Bazid Khan has freely communicated analysis of changing the playing conditions in top notch cricket.

In the interim, on the debut day of the President Prize, both State Bank and SNGPL acquired extra focuses because of their exhibitions against PTV and Ghani Glass, separately.

At the SBP sports complex, PTV was bowled out for 66 runs, with Express Bank's Mohammad Abbas asserting 6 wickets, yielding only 19 runs in 11 overs. Accordingly, State Bank closed the very beginning at 201 for 1, with opener Zain Abbas scoring an unbeaten hundred years (109) and Umar Amin staying unbeaten at 69.

SBP got 4 extra focuses right off the bat, with 1 point for bowling out the adversary and 3 focuses for taking the primary innings lead. They currently have the potential chance to acquire an extra reward point as they proceed with their batting on Sunday.

At the Public Bank Arena, SNGPL got a batting reward point by scoring 371 runs in 80 overs for the deficiency of 7 wickets. Abid Ali top-scored with 90, Asad Shafiq contributed 81, Sahibzada Farhan scored 67, and Omair Receptacle Yousaf added 56 runs, while Mohammad Rameez of Ghani Glass guaranteed 6 wickets.

At the UBL sports complex, notwithstanding hundreds of years from Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Saleem for WAPDA, the group missed the mark concerning getting a reward point. WAPDA posted 322 runs for the deficiency of 6 wickets in 80 overs, with Iftekhar Ahmed scoring 155 off 180 and Mohammad Saleem adding 117.
