May 25, 2024) The All-Party Hurriyat Conference in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India has said that the Indian government led by Narendra Modi is using the region to mislead the world about the current dire situation in the region. Parliamentary elections are being staged. According to Kashmir Media Service, All-Party Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rasheed Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the Modi government is using sham elections to maintain its military occupation and justify its illegal actions in the region.
He said that the Indian government has intensified the series of restrictions, siege and search operations and raids in the occupied area in the name of security during these rigged elections.
The spokesman said that the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been facing immense hardships including constant oppression and murder under the Indian military rule for more than seven decades.
He said that Kashmiris are not fighting for elections, but for freedom from Indian domination and they will not sit with China until the achievement of the sacred goal. The All-Party Hurriyat Conference urged the international community to support the oppressed Kashmiris. Listen to their cries and support their right to self-determination. Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti along with party leaders and workers staged a protest against the arrest of her party workers and polling agents by the Indian police in Bijbahara area of Islamabad district today. .
The protesters also blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the protesters, injuring several people. Mehbooba Mufti while talking to the journalists said that the elections are being rigged and all the senior officers including the Lieutenant Governor and the Director General of Police are involved in it. Mehbooba Mufti is contesting elections from Islamabad Rajouri Constituency for which votes were cast today.
Indian soldiers arrested two youths named Muhammad Salim and Muhammad Yaqub during house raids in Bhadarwah area of Doda district. The High Court of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir annulled the detention of three innocent Kashmiris imprisoned under the Black Law Public Safety Act and ordered their immediate release. They have been identified as Sartaj Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed and Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone.
