 Wednesday 29 May 2024

Muzaffarabad (Urdu Point Newspaper Latest - NNI. May 29, 2024) Former Chairman of the Prime Minister's Inspection and Import Commission Zahid Amin Advocate has said that during the last 33 months, no attention has been paid to the incomplete basic urban infrastructure of the capital city affected by the earthquake. Additional Chief Secretary Development Atif Rehman should play a fair role in view of the special conditions and immense pressure of the capital city.

In his letter to the newly appointed Additional Chief Secretary for Development, Zahid Amin said that since the earthquake of 2005, Muzaffarabad city has been under tremendous pressure of population, construction and traffic. Ninety-five percent of the Kashmiri refugees of 1989 and 1990 are settled here.

There has been a significant increase in the number and personnel of civil-military departments.

He said that Muzaffarabad city is also the major center of Hazara Guliyat, Bagh and Haveli districts of KPK. He said that the Neelum river passing through Muzaffarabad is now the permanent headquarters of serious environmental problems. In the near future, the Jhelum river will also become a victim of the worst environmental damage. He said that in the recent past, the residents of the areas affected by the firing of the usurping Indian forces on the infamous Line of Control have also turned towards Muzaffarabad city.

He said that thousands of tourists going to the Neelum Valley, Jhelum and Kaghan also pass through this city. He said that the specific objective conditions and pressure of the capital city legitimately demand special attention on the basic urban infrastructure. He said that the construction Under No, MCDP was terminated in December 2015 in an incomplete state, former Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan made some projects of MCDP and master plan implemented from the development budget of Azad Kashmir.

He said that Raja Farooq Haider Khan took the fair initiative of allocating 1 billion 25 crore rupees every year under the title of capital development package in the development budget of 2021-22 for the completion of other urban projects. He said that unfortunately. In November 2021, the current government canceled the package and other important approved urban development projects, he said that the citizens of Muzaffarabad expect justice from the new Additional Chief Secretary Development.
