Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, properties of two more Kashmiris seized, five Kashmiri youths arrested

 Thursday 30 May 2024

Srinagar (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. May 30, 2024) The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government continues its colonial agenda of depriving Kashmiris of their property. According to the Kashmir Media Service, the Indian police along with the officials of the notorious investigative agencies have seized the land and shops of Adil Hussain and Muhammad Yaqub.

The Modi government is confiscating the properties of Kashmiris under one pretext or the other. The Indian administration has so far seized hundreds of properties in the occupied territory with the aim of economically strangling Kashmiris and forcing them to abandon their support for the ongoing movement for self-determination.

The Indian police arrested five Kashmiri youths, including Sheikh Makkads, Junaid Hussain, Aflah Mir and Naveed Mir from different areas of Srinagar, Pulwama and Baramulla districts.

Meanwhile, All-Party Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rasheed Minhas in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the raids, siege and search operations, unjustified arrests, seizure of properties and other atrocities in the occupied area and said that India is a legitimate political party of Kashmiris. It is using brutal tactics to suppress voices, which international human rights organizations should take note of.

He called upon the international community to play a role in resolving the Kashmir conflict in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the wishes of the Kashmiris to ensure sustainable peace and security in South Asia. In violation, they have installed Global Positioning System (GPS) with two more Kashmiris in Baramulla and Islamabad districts.

Earlier, 65-year-old Ghulam Muhammad Butt, a resident of Srinagar, was also GPS-stomped in November 2023. All three are facing cases under black laws and the court has released them on bail. A tracking system has been installed with them. Human rights activists have strongly condemned the Indian authorities' move to install a tracking system on citizens, calling it a serious violation of personal freedom.
