Islamabad (Urdu Point Newspaper Latest - APP. May 26, 2024) The Azadi Fellowship program organized by the International Research Council on Religious Affairs (IRCRA) has been successfully concluded in which the participants from 15 districts The purpose of this diverse gathering was to promote understanding and social harmony among the youth of Pakistan.
The program saw a significant number of speakers from all corners of the world including USA, UK, Abu Dhabi, Al-Azhar University Egypt, Romania, Indonesia, Pakistan and many other countries. These speakers shared their insights on the importance of religious tolerance, cultural diversity and social harmony. The participants were given a comprehensive tour of Islamabad which included prominent think tanks, Islamabad clubs, theaters along with music clubs and important cultural sites. Such as visits to folk heritage museums, churches and temples were included.
A highlight of the visit was the visit to the National Assembly, where the young participants gained an in-depth knowledge of Pakistan's legislative process and democratic framework. The multicultural environment of the program provided an opportunity for youth from different linguistic and religious backgrounds to come closer and learn from each other. This process fostered mutual respect and appreciation for each other's cultures and beliefs which will lay a strong foundation for future cooperation and understanding.
During the event, the participants pledged to promote the national narrative of social harmony and pledge to act as Pakistan's ambassadors for unity and peace. They expressed their commitment to spread this message within their communities to build a more harmonious and tolerant society. While sharing his views with the media, IRCRA President Mohammad Asrar Madani said that the Azadi Fellowship Program has played an important role in bridging the cultural and religious divide, with dialogue and cooperation in building a harmonious society. The importance of respect is highlighted.
He said that this year's fellowship focused on providing useful information on religious freedom, democracy and civic engagement. He said that the Azadi Fellowship program represents our commitment to promoting religious freedom and democratic values in Pakistan. , we believe that by empowering young leaders and scholars, we can make significant progress towards a more inclusive and diverse society.
