May 12, 2024) The All-Party Hurriyat Conference in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India has urged international human rights organizations including the United Nations, Asia Watch and Amnesty International to They should put pressure on India to release all the Kashmiri political prisoners locked up in various prisons of India and the occupied territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, All-Party Hurriyat Conference Spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rasheed Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed deep concern over the continuous illegal detention of thousands of Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders, activists, scholars, journalists, youth and human rights activists. He said that illegal detentions and other oppressive tactics by the occupying authorities cannot stop the Kashmiri people from continuing their struggle for self-determination.


The statement said that torture of people by Indian forces, indiscriminate arrests, life sentences and massacre of innocent Kashmiris shows the ongoing serious situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The statement said that the anti-Muslim mentality of the Modi government and the colonial measures imposed one after the other in Jammu and Kashmir show what is going to happen to the Kashmiri people in the coming days.

The spokesman expressed deep concern over the plight of the Kashmiri detainees, including All-Party Hurriyat Conference Chairman Musrat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Asia Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahidul Islam, Mushtaqul Islam, Maulvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, Bilal Siddiqui, Ameer Hamza, Dr. Hameed Fayyaz, Abdul Ahad Para, Zafar Akbar Butt, Umar Adil Dar, Dr. Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Ghulam Qadir. Butt, Noor Muhammad Fayaz, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Faktu, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Yousuf, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Hayat Ahmad Butt, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Maulana Sarjan Barkati, human rights defender Khurram Parvez and journalist Asif Sultan. Irfan Majeed, Sajjad Gul and others are included.

The Hurriyat spokesperson also urged Indian journalists and civil society to put pressure on their government to resolve all disputes with Pakistan, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, through dialogue. He said that unless the serious problem of Jammu and Kashmir is resolved according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, the dream of peace and prosperity in the region will not be fulfilled.
