June 21, 2024) Kabaddi is still the most popular sport of Punjab through which the spirit of competition can be developed among the youth as well as rural culture can be nurtured. Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice President Dr. Sajjad Arshad said this while addressing the participants of the two-day technical course for Kabaddi Officials organized by the Standing Committee on Sports of the Chamber.
He said that Kabaddi is a game of strength. Even in this age of mobile and internet, Kabaddi has the potential to attract more crowds than any other sport. But due to non-patronage of governments, this sport is declining. He appreciated the efforts of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this regard, which played a key role in keeping the sport alive locally, regionally and internationally.
He said that the role of Kabaddi officials to develop this game is an undisputed fact and holding a refresher course for them will help to advance this game on scientific basis. He also stressed on the motivation of Kabaddi players and said that they need to be given more jobs in government institutions and in this regard Faisalabad Chamber will play its role at every level.
On this occasion, Prof. Ghulam Muhammad Chatta gave a lecture on ethics and justice, Muzamil Hussain on rescue of players, Abdul Hakeem on the history of Kabaddi and Syed Muhammad Tayyab Geelani on the prevailing rules of the game of Kabaddi. Kabaddi officials from all over Punjab participated in this refresher course. Former President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rana Sikandar Azam Khan, Executive Member Shafiq Hussain Shah, Standing Committee Canon Shabir Sindhu and Tanveer Tarar Advocate also participated in the course and assured their full support for the promotion of Kabaddi.
Rana Sikandar Azam Khan also highlighted the usefulness of membership of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and said that everyone associated with industry and commerce should take membership of the Chamber.
