Kashmiris are struggling for self-determination not for construction and development, Musrat Alam

 Saturday 22 June 2024

Srinagar (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. June 22, 2024) Illegally detained in the notorious Indian Tihar Jail, Chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference Musarat Alam Butt has condemned the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rejecting the announcements of development projects during his recent visit, he said that Kashmiris are not fighting for development or privileges, but for their birthright, the right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Musrat Alam Butt said in his special message from Tihar Jail that Kashmiris are asking India for their legitimate and birthright, the right to self-determination, which the Indian rulers themselves have promised to the international community and about which There are many UN resolutions.

He said that India has suppressed this right of Kashmiris on the basis of military force.

He said that the main purpose of the visit of the Indian Prime Minister is to try to mislead the international community regarding the serious situation in the occupied region, but the Kashmiri people have exposed the false claim of India to the world by going on a complete strike. The situation is normal. Musrat Alam Butt said that if the situation in the occupied area is normal, then why does India need to keep around one million of its forces personnel here.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir, under the illegal rule of India, has been turned into a military cantonment where one soldier is imposed on every five people. The dream of peace and development cannot be interpreted in a shameful way. Musrat Alam Butt said that despite the barbaric atrocities of India, the morale of Kashmiris is high and they are determined to continue their struggle until the right of self-determination. They are under the illegal rule of India. Expressing concern over the plight of Kashmiris imprisoned in various prisons in Jammu and Kashmir and India, he urged the international human rights organizations to send their teams to observe the conditions of the prisons.
