Peshawar (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. 06 June 2024) President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fawad Ishaq, has said that the federal government has brought a businessman-friendly scheme, for the success of which it is necessary to implement this scheme 20 With the approval of the Parliament of Pakistan for the year, the business community should be given a sovereign guarantee that no new tax will be imposed on them after the implementation of this scheme.
Along with simplifying the tax system and introducing more reforms, the tax should be brought to a single digit while ensuring the provision of facilities to traders and industrialists under one window operation along with the elimination of double taxation. There is an urgent need to develop better coordination and linkages between traders and tax authorities so that issues can be resolved through mutual consultation and prompt action to provide relief to the business community.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on the occasion of Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Peshawar Zafar Iqbal's visit to the Border Chamber. On this occasion, Chief Coordinator Tajer Dost Scheme Naeem Mir, Commissioner Regional Tax Office Peshawar Dr. Farooq Jameel. Additional Customs Peshawar Ayesha Dilshad, DC Headquarters Peshawar Riaz Ahmed Khan were also present along with Chief Commissioner Peshawar.
The main purpose of the RTO team's visit was to inform the traders and industrialists about the benefits and important points of the Trader Friendly Scheme to be introduced by the federal government. During the meeting, Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Zafar Iqbal and Other senior officials while giving a detailed briefing regarding the Trader Friendly Scheme to be introduced by the government said that the said scheme is a link in the series of reforms and simplification of the tax system by the FBR to increase the tax net.
Chief Commissioner Peshawar said that FBR is taking practical steps to provide maximum facilities to small traders. He said that the main objective of the trader-friendly scheme is to bring the traders and retailers into the tax net and the scheme aims to provide maximum relief and facilities. Fawad Ishaq, the president of the Border Chamber, has said that Pakistan is paying 8 trillion rupees annually in the form of interest on external and internal debts in the form of debt servicing and that is how much our revenue is collected, which is insufficient for the construction and development of Pakistan. .
He emphasized that instead of burdening existing taxpayers with additional taxes, new people should be brought into the tax net. He said that the business community wants to see Pakistan in the ranks of developed countries, but we have to fix policies and take business-friendly and industry-friendly measures. Earlier, former presidents of Sarhad Chamber Haji Muhammad Afzal, Zahidullah Shinwari and Atif Shehzad, business leaders and representatives of the business community gave a speech and presented several suggestions to simplify the tax system.
