Rohit Sharma to lead India in Champions Prize, WTC: BCCI

Victorious skipper Rohit Sharma who as of late won his country the T20 World Cup 2024, will be driving group India in the Bosses Prize 2025 and the 2023-25 World Test Title (WTC).

"I'm sure that under the captaincy of Rohit, we will win the WTC Last and the Bosses Prize," said the Leading body of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah.

Shah's comments come after India finished their 11-drawn out ICC prize dry spell subsequent to beating South Africa in the last of the T20 World Cup 2024 under the authority of Rohit.

The star hitter was designated India's chief in 2021 after Virat Kohli ventured down and from that point forward, the Blues came to the WTC 2021-23 last and the ODI World Cup 2023 last where they lost to Australia on the two events.

In a video message shared by the BCCI, Shah devoted India's Reality Cup win to past lead trainer Rahul Dravid, whose last match in control was the last and to Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja as every one of them three resigned from T20Is.

"Numerous congrats to Group India for this noteworthy triumph [...] this was our third last somewhat recently. In June 2023, we lost in the last of the World Test Title. After ten successes in November 2023, we won hearts yet couldn't win the cup," the BCCI official said.

"I had said in Rajkot that in June 2024, we will win hearts, win the cup, and crane the banner of India, and our skipper did precisely that. The last five overs had a tremendous commitment to this triumph.

"I need to say thanks to Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya for their commitments. After this triumph, the following stage is the WTC last and the Heroes Prize. I'm sure that we will become champions in both these competitions under the captaincy of Rohit," Shah closed.
