In developing countries, local bodies have the strongest role in the economy, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The only way to make Kashmir stand on its own feet is the transfer of powers to the lower level. Until the power is transferred to the lower level, it is impossible to solve all the public problems, including construction and development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The dream cannot be fulfilled, the public mandate is being insulted by not transferring the powers to the lower level. We will have to suffer in the elections, these views were expressed by President Durrani Qaumi Ittehad Azad Kashmir Bilal Iqbal Durrani while talking to journalists.
He said that after 31 years, the local body elections in Azad Kashmir were a new ray of hope for the people, in which the people participated fully and gave more turnout to their ward, union council and district council candidates than the assembly members. Bilal Iqbal Durrani said that the government will respect the mandate of the people by not giving powers to the local bodies. In order to put the local bodies on their feet, the powers should be immediately transferred to the lower level, not transferring the powers to the local representatives is tantamount to fostering traditional politics, which the people will reject in the upcoming general elections.
The local elections have provided real political leadership to the people, on which the people have expressed their full confidence, the government took immediate steps for the transfer of power so that the effects of the local elections after 31 years can reach the common man.
