Home Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed chaired a meeting of the Special Ministerial Committee. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shirin Mazari and Advisor on Home Affairs Barrister Shehzad Akbar, Secretary Law Ministry, Additional Secretary Home and other senior officials. And important decisions were made between the UK and the Criminal Repatriation Agreement.

The committee decided that the extradition treaty with the UK would be signed in the best public interest. The committee decided that further consultations would be held with the United Kingdom before taking the agreement to the Federal Cabinet, which would enable Pakistan and the United Kingdom to repatriate their convicted criminals to each other's countries. According to the statement, the agreement will only allow the repatriation of citizens who have been sentenced by the relevant courts. The agreement will be submitted to the federal cabinet for final approval after consultation with the United Kingdom. The first round was held in October 2019.
