Member of Punjab Assembly Ahsan Saleem met Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi in Lahore. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that only politics of integrity will work in Pakistan. He said that the people buried the negative politics of PDM in the by-election.

In the Punjab Cabinet meeting,it was decided that there will be a ban on double riding on the ninth and tenth of Muharram in Punjab,while mobile service will remain closed at sensitive places and on the route of processions.
Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that the provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants will monitor the security arrangements in their respective districts. Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi directed the provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants to go to their districts immediately and monitor the measures taken to protect the lives and property of the people and said that on the day of Ashura, peace must be established at the district level. Regular meetings should be held and CCTV coverage of all processions and Ramjals should be ensured.
The peaceful atmosphere of Muharram, especially the Day of Ashura, should be ensured at all costs and the members of the District Videovisional Peace Committees should play an active role to promote religious harmony. The Chief Minister said that there will be no compromise on publication and distribution of objectionable content, action should be taken indiscriminately on violation. Compliance with the code of conduct should be ensured in every case.
