Islamabad (Urdu Point News Latest - NNI. 06 February 2024) Pakistan's High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, has said that time has not diminished our commitment and support for the Kashmiri brothers and sisters, but the government and the people of Pakistan. The determination for the Kashmir cause is getting stronger with each passing day. He was addressing a seminar organized by Pakistan High Commission London today on the occasion of "Jammu and Kashmir Solidarity Day".
Expressing regret over the situation, High Commissioner Nai said that extreme violations of human rights are taking place in the occupied valley, where the Indian occupying forces are targeting innocent civilians, including children, with pellet guns and during the past years, people have been blinded by pellet guns. The number has increased alarmingly.
The High Commissioner emphasized that the only solution to the Jammu and Kashmir conflict is to grant the right of self-determination to the Kashmiris in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights Mashal Hussain Malik and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed participated in the seminar through video link, while MP Debbie Abrahams and Lord Qurban Hussain also participated in the seminar. MP Imran Hussain, MP Afzal Khan, Dr Abida Rafique from Center of International Strategic Studies AJ&K and Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International Raja Najabat Hussain also addressed the seminar.
Speaking at the seminar, Mashal Hussain Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Human Rights and wife of prominent Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, said that the world is witnessing genocide in the occupied valley and the Indian government has cut off all communication lines. The world must condemn this atrocity. All Party Parliamentary Group on Jammu and Kashmir (APPG) MP DB Abrahams said that we will continue to raise our voice for the inalienable rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He warned that the execution of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik would affect geopolitical stability and urged the international community to play its role. On Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan, APPG Vice Chairman MP Imran Hussain said that India is illegally trying to change the population of Jammu and Kashmir. MP Imran Hussain further said that the Supreme Court of India cannot issue judgments on the case related to Jammu and Kashmir as it is an international issue and not a domestic issue.
MP Afzal Khan said that India is getting support from other world powers to justify the atrocities on Kashmiri people. So we need to unite and gather support to expose the fascist face of the Indian government before the international community. Earlier, the High Commissioner visited a photo exhibition organized by the Pakistan High Commission in London along with a large number of UK-based Kashmiri leaders, British Pakistanis and media. In the photo exhibition, the atrocities on the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir were depicted.
