ISLAMABAD (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. June 13, 2024) The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has given conditional approval for the export of 0.15 million metric tons of surplus sugar. In the meeting, the proposal to release 9 billion rupees to pay the dues of oil marketing companies including PSO was also approved. Technical supplementary grants for various ministries and divisions were also approved in the meeting.

The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee of Bina was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister of Finance and Products Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Petroleum Mossadegh Masood Malik, Minister for Electricity Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik, Federal Secretaries, senior officials of relevant ministries participated in the meeting.


126.848 million rupees for the payment of customs duties and taxes of the Bina Division, 29 million rupees for the Presidential Secretariat for the payment of employees' expenses, 5400 million rupees for the Ministry of National Health Services for the Federal Directorate of Immunization, in Gilgit-Baltistan. In the context of salaries, allowances, family assistance packages and various health and education projects, Rs 4.92 billion for the Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Rs 6596 million for the payment of pending dues of PASCO, Rs 370 million for the Ministry of Housing and Works, Somali from NADRA. 332 million rupees for the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the identification system, 14250 million rupees for the Ministry of Finance for the implementation of the Women's Financial Inclusion Project, 96.9 billion rupees for the Ministry of Finance for the implementation of the Audit Management Information System, Green Tourism Pakistan Project. 5 billion rupees for the defense division, 23.945 billion rupees for the Ministry of Defense in connection with the shortfall in the current financial year, 10 billion rupees for the Ministry of Interior in connection with the payment of pending ration dues of Frontier Corps Headquarters and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts Headquarters. 600 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for the construction of three additional core headquarters, 5.986 million rupees for the additional funds of the Ministry of Interior, 9.576 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for the establishment of the National Academy for Prison Administration, 87 million rupees for the Frontier Core Headquarters Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4637 million rupees for payment of operational and ration pending dues of civil armed forces and technical supplementary grants of 168.83 billion rupees were approved for the Ministry of Economic Affairs as part of the revised budget estimate for the current financial year.

In the meeting, on the proposal of the Ministry of National Education, the proposal to exempt the Higher Education Commission from the re-landing policy of foreign loans and credit from sovereigns was approved. The proposal to release 9 billion rupees for payment of dues was approved.

In the meeting, conditional approval was given for the export of 0.15 million metric tons of surplus sugar on the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Production. ECC has made the export of sugar subject to increase in prices, in case of increase in prices, permission to export sugar will be withdrawn. Apart from this, the ECC directed to ensure that the money earned from the exports is used to pay the dues of farmers' mills. 82 billion rupees financial facility disbursement proposal was approved. It was decided in the meeting that OGDCL will clear the dues of the Government of Pakistan through this arrangement.
