Karachi (Urdu Point Latest News - NNI. 04 June 2024) Mufti Muhammad Bilal Qadri, the head of Tehreek-e-Kamasha Islam Pakistan, has said that the people are being punished for crimes they did not commit, someone else steals electricity and gas and those who pay the penalty are punished. On the other hand, by increasing the prices, the government also puts the burden on the consumers. In a few years, the price of electricity per unit has reached from Rs. 2 to Rs. Be it Imran Khan or Shehbaz Sharif, everyone has done their part in putting more burden on the people by increasing the price of electricity, but they have not paid attention to end electricity theft and line losses. On the other hand, the IMF is also demanding Do More, the people and the industrialists are also crying out.
It seems that in the coming months, the IMF will try its best to raise electricity and gas prices so high that industrialists shut down their factories and there are camps of hunger and poverty everywhere, from which no one will benefit. And our enemies will surely benefit. We need to at least learn a lesson from India how it closed the doors of IMF in India forever.
The question is, why can't we do this, but there are no ruling industrialists, Chaudhris, Sardars or Vaderes? He said that the common man has been deprived of even two meals a day, which is the reason why charity organizations are seen feeding people everywhere. are On the other hand, the government is claiming that inflation is decreasing. Although the decrease is not in inflation but in purchasing power, people's purchasing power has been exhausted.
A rise in electricity and gas prices is certain during the next financial year as electricity and gas companies have to recover their losses of billions of rupees. The government has also given the IMF its plans to increase electricity and gas prices, besides the government will have to increase taxes to raise its revenue to 1.5 percent of GDP. With these measures, the inflation will increase again and the people will be burdened with more expenses, lest the patience of the people will give way and protests will start in the country. It is imperative that the government immediately curbs electricity and gas theft as Pakistan cannot afford any more protests.
