June 14, 2024) Allama Iqbal Open University ranked first among 91 universities in Pakistan and seventh among 2175 universities in the world in SDG 4 (Quality Education) in the impact ranking for the year 2024 issued by Times Higher Education. He directed the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization and other relevant departments to accelerate efforts to come forward in the goals of the SDGs in which we are behind and to maintain the positions in which we have achieved.
He said that we will pay special attention to promote the culture of research in the university so that we can achieve excellence in this field as well.
The Vice-Chancellor directed the heads of departments to provide more facilities to the students so that they do not face any problem in getting education. Earlier, the Additional Director of Research, Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization, Dr. Saima Nasir, while giving a presentation on obtaining positions in quality education, said that the university had obtained the 25th position among 1304 universities in the world in the ranking of quality education last year, while this year 2017 ranked 7th out of 2175 universities in the world, moving from 25th to 7th in a year is the result of the efforts of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the recent initiatives taken by the Vice-Chancellor to increase the quality of education.
The participants of the event congratulated the Vice-Chancellor for securing the first and seventh positions in the ranking of educational quality. All four deans, professors and principal officers of the university participated in the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, a cake was cut to celebrate the success.
